Want to Join 180 Sqn? If you're 12-16, and you're interested in joining Air Cadets, come down this Friday (18 Sep 2009) at 6:30 pm to Glenview Public School. We'll have an orientation for new recruits and parents outlining what we do and how to join.

Friday - First Training Night Cadets is starting up again, and we want to start off the year strong, so everyone make sure you're at Glenview and in uniform by 6:30 pm this Friday (18 Sep 2009). It's an important night where we regroup after the summer, by figuring out flights, levels and find out what's going on for the rest of the year.
Saturday - Gliding This Saturday (19 Sep) we'll be gliding in the afternoon. We'll meet at Denison Armoury (map) at 11:00 am and return by 6:00 pm. If you are new and joining the Sqn this Friday, you must have the paperwork filled out and handed in (180 Recruit Application Package). Sign-ups for this trip will be this Friday at the end of the night. If you're interested in aviation, or just never been in a glider or small plane, definately sign-up. We will be stopping at McDonald's on the way up, so if you want to eat there, bring some money.
Saturday - Band The first band practice is this Saturday! It is only for returning band members and new members who are either Cpls (or above) or are playing brass or percussion instruments at school. The practice will be from 10 am to 4 pm at Glenview, bring a lunch. If you are an LAC or below without music experience, you will be able to join the band in October when beginner practices start.
Sunday - Sqn BBQ We always kick of the training year with a BBQ, meaning burgers, sports, games, and lots of water (as in water balloons/super soakers/mud). This Sunday (20 Sep) we're meeting at Earl bales Park (map) at 11:00 am. We finish around 3:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to come down!
Uniform Supply Did you grow over the summer? Have a uniform part go missing at camp? Dog ate your boots? Well supply is open for exchanges and replacements this Friday between 5 and 6 pm only. Supply may be open the following Monday as well (listen to announcements or check back here for confirmation). For cadets just joining the Sqn this month, you will receive your uniforms later on (probably in October).
Tagging We will be tagging (fund-raising) next weekend from Friday to Sunday (25-27 Sep). This is mandatory for all NCOs and cadets in flights 1 - 4. Cadets in flight 5 will have a regular training night on the Friday. More information will be posted next week.
