Ski Weekend

Happy New Year everyone! The Christmas Training Course ran well, so congratulations to all the cadets and NCOs who were on courses or helped staff it. Another congratulations goes to Cpl Matthews and LAC Kong for getting top cadet awards in their respective flights. Here's what's going on as we wind back up...

Flying Scholarship Applicants

The cadets from 180's Pilot Ground School course applying to glider and power courses this summer are writing their entrance test this weekend, so good luck! Reminder that this Friday the 9 of you are in a review period, and on Saturday we're meeting at the Legion in the morning at 8:30 am. As well, the powerpoint files are now in the "Downloads" section.

Winter Weekend
On the weekend of Jan 23-25, the sqn is going north for a weekend on sledding, skiing, lots of outdoor activities, and a few snowballs. It's going to be a really fun time, so make sure you can go. More info to follow.

Biathlon
We're putting together a biathlon team (skiing + shooting) to compete at a competition at the end of the month. This is a first for 180, so we're testing the waters on this. However we need 6 cadets who are going to the Winter Weekend, and free the following weekend. If you're itnerested, talk to Sgt Nitz or Cpl Sandoval this Friday. Priority goes to cadets with skiing and/or rifle experience. We need 3 males and 3 females for the team.

Supply
Supply will be open this Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 for any uniform exchanges or issues, and on Monday from 6 to 8. Also note that if you've signed up for the March Break trip, you must have a full uniform and parka, so make sure to get one as soon as you can.

March Break Trip
There will be more information to follow, but for now, for those of you who've signed up, you must make sure you've handed in your permission forms. If you still need a permission form, you can download it on the PDF menu on the right. Make sure to hand it into Capt Chao this Friday.

New uniforms have started coming in, that means all new recruits can come and get them (as long as your paperwork is complete). Supply will be open at Glenview for new issues and exchanges this Friday (Nov 28th) from 5 pm until 6:30 pm, and on Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Sports Competition
This weekend is the 618 Sqn Invitational Sports competition. For cadets who are signed-up and attending, you must be at HMCS York (See Map and Directions here) at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday. We finish 8 pm on Saturday, and about 5 pm on Sunday.
