The last parade of the training year is a big one as usual. This annual inspection showed off the Sqn to families and friends, with the usual march-pasts, demonstration, awards and speeches.

Canoe Weekend
5 - 7 June 2009
Canoeing always makes for a great weekend to end the training year. There was also lots of swimming, hanging out on the beach, water fights, good food, and just having fun.

180 Run
24 May 2009
It was the perfect day in May, and the cadets were out for the annual 5 km run. After the run, there were lots of games, water soaking and burgers (and we also raised a bit of cash).

Survival Weekend
8 - 10 May 2009
After the Fall Survival got cut short due to the Canadian wilderness temporarily becoming a rain forest, we tried again at our annual Spring Survival Weekend. It was still rainy half the time, but we had fun and managed to get lots of training in.

TAG Swim Comp
21 March 2009
Two days after coming back from Chicago, 180 hosted this year's Toronto Air Group Swim Competition at the Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre (it was a busy month). The competition ran great, and 180 placed second overall (we'll get first next year).

March Break
14 - 19 March 2009
Every March Break, the Sqn heads down South for a week-long tour. This year we went to Illinois, staying at Naval Station Great Lakes and touring Chicago. We checked out the Navy's boot camp and post-recruit training facilities, and toured downtown Chicago, Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry.

180 Drill Comp
1 March 2009
180 hosted it's annual drill competition as a preview to the area drill competition. It was a tough competition, but we came out on top as usual Congratulations to the team, who also later got first place at the COA Drill Comp.

Range Comp
28 February 2009
180 sent a 5-person team to the zone range competition. It was a day of shooting air rifles, eating pizza and filling in the gaps with Family Guy.

Winter Weekend
23 - 25 January 2009
The Sqn headed up to YMCA Cedar Glen for a weekend romp in the snow. There were lots of games, sledding and snowballs, plus 180's first Biathlon team did some cross-country skiing to prepare for their competition the week after.

Christmas Dance

Every December, 180 ends the year in bang with music, dancing, video games, pizza, and lots of candy.

618 Sports Comp
29 - 30 November 2008
180 participated again at 618's annual sports competition. It was basketball and volleyball on the Saturday, and European handball and tug-of-war on Sunday.

Air Combat Zone
2 November 2008
The cadets from 180's Pilot Ground School Program are out again to a CF-18 combat simulator in Mississauga. Was a lot of fun learning about flying a fighter, watching some movies, and a few rounds of table soccer.

Flying
18 & 19 October 2008
16 cadets from 180's Pilot Ground School program got a chance for some powered flying in some trusty Cessna 172s. It was a fun weekend with six 45 minute flights over and around Toronto.

Gliding
12 October 2008
It was a first of several gliding days we did, and will do, throughout the training year. Aside from the flying, cadets hung out in the hanger playing games and watching movies, we had a lunch and Canex break, and we took a little stroll through the Borden Tank Park.

166 Sqn Run & Shoot
4 October 2008
9 cadets from 180 competed at 166 Sqn's first invitational Run and Shoot Competition (AKA summer biathlon). We didn't take home any medals, but had an awesome showing and a good preview on the rules and procedures for future biathlon competitions (ski and shoot).

LAC-NCO Weekend
5 - 7 September 2008
180's LACs and NCOs head up to the Sqn's first activity for the 2008-2009 training year to learn leadership, instructional technique and standards. It's a rainy but productive weekend at the cadet training centre in CFB Trenton.
